Memorial Park

Memorial Park located opposite the Visitor Centre is perfect for a picnic or friendly game of cricket or Giant Chess! The park has a playground, barbecue facilities, large grassed areas and public toilets.

Until recently there was a replica of the  wooden barque "Bridgetown".  In the 1860s this clipper was the first vessel to load wool from the Bridgetown district at Bunbury, and this resulted in the towns name.   Unfortunately the boat had to be removed in January 2008 due to termite damage.

The Park was established by the "Bridgetown Policy Pool" in 1944 with the stone Gate House being erected in 1950.  In 1952 the War Memorial was moved from its original location to further up the hill on the western side of the Park.  The War Memorial was designed by the late Gordon Holdsworth and is one of the many examples of the artists work in Bridgetown.

Memorial Park is the venue for the annual Anzac Day service and is also used as one of the venues during the annual Blues Festival which is held on the second weekend of November.
