The Rotary Club of Bridgetown is proud to present the 13th annual Up Close & Classical concert, showcasing the South West's finest musical talent and emerging international artists.

Be entertained by a wide range of musical talent, with instrumentalists playing music ranging from classical piano to contemporary styles.ClassicalMusic

A number of vocal soloists will also perform.

Tickets can be purchased at the Bridgetown Community Resource Centre or by phoning on 9761 2712.

The concert is a Bridgetown Rotary fundraiser, with proceeds this year going towards the Bridgetown Youth Drug Action Group.

Mary Myfanwy Vocals and Guitar

Mary Myfanwy is a singer-songwriter from Bridgetown who weaves whimsical folk tales with haunting melodies.  She performs all genres of music from her own poetic numbers through to jazz, country-blues, soul and indie pop covers.   She has released three albums:  From A Warm Room, Of The Heart, and The Deepest.

Ryan Davies Piano Solo "Widmung" (Liebeslied) by Schumann/Liszt.

Perth pianist, Ryan Davies, has performed extensively as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral pianist, accompanist and repetiteur.  He currently holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) where he studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue Anna Sleptsover.  Ryan has performed in numerous venues throughout Perth, regional venues including Albany, Kalgoorlie and Townsville, and internationally in the USA and Singapore.  Ryan is currently based at Hale School where he is a piano teacher and accompanist.  In addition, he also teaches piano at WAAPA as well as his own private studio.

Noelle Zhao Piano Solo "4th Ballade in F Minor" by Chopin

Noelle Zhao is a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) where she majored in classical piano performance under the tutelage of Anna Sleptsova.  She performs regularly around Perth as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist.  Her piano duo Styletto made their debut performance at WAAPA in 2016, and has since performed at various concert venues including the Perth Concert Hall and Government House Ballroom.  In 2015, Noelle won the Warana Concerto competition for the most outstanding performance of a concerto, and performed Rachmaninoff's piano concerto no.2 with the Faith Court Orchestra conducted by Christopher Dragon.  She often takes part in master classes held by PIAF, Royal School of Music and Musica Viva with high profile international artists and performers.  Noelle also works as a peripatetic tutor at Hale School, and acquired her Associate Diploma of Music as well as the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music at the age of twelve.
